In anticipation of the ever-approaching launch of The Bloodfields on Blackstar Station, I released a new player class for Mothership 1e for FREE over on Itch. GET IT HERE!
It’s a class for players looking to be a weirdo space priest or esoteric mystic, and it’s modeled after a team of enemy combatants you can encounter in the Bloodfields.
In the Bloodfields, the Venerable Voidtouched claim to have a way out of the arena and off the station entirely. They know of an ancient xeno hyperspace ritual, if they can get the number of people required to perform it.
Only 5 days until the launch of The Bloodfields at Blackstar Station on Kickstarter and the launch of Zine Month 2022 as a whole, I have been blown away by the interest and support I’ve seen so far. You can follow the campaign HERE and get notified of the launch the moment it happens (10 am EST on Feb 1st).
Digital rewards (PDF, digital stretch goals) will be $8!
Physical reward (printed zine, all stretch goals) will be $15!
Shipping for physical rewards will be charged later via Backerkit.
Stretch goals are few (to keep things achievable and relatively simple) but will unlock goodies for everyone at their respective tier. Essentially, $15 will get you ALL digital and ALL physical stretch goals plus the zine itself!
I think it will be great, but do you not trust me? Well then, listen to Tim!
“Bloodfields is a brilliant competition that fits with incredible ease into any campaign or stands well on its own legs. As a fan of tables, I love the tools the Warden is given to facilitate this module. As if that weren't enough, Christian provides Blackstar Station as a sinister backdrop and set piece for ongoing play.” - Tim Obermueller (The Burning of Carbex, The House Always Wins)
I’ll likely drop one more Missive on launch day (or during launch week), but then I’ll be digging into the experience as a first time crowdfunder as it’s happening so be sure to subscribe for that!
MORE COOL STUFF
Ian Yusem of many-wonderful-Mothership-products fame just dropped a lengthy and extremely valuable post looking at this second full-time year of indie TTRPG publishing, digging into the financials, the emotional/mental toll, his processes and more. It’s the best thing on publishing I’ve read in ages. Read it HERE.
Zine Month workshops continue, many facilitied by Tony at Plus One Exp. I’ve only caught portions of both of these so far, but they were both helpful and informative. The single best thing about #ZIMO2022 for me as being the collaborative and open learning environment it’s offered so many creators.
In non-Mothership/Bloodfields news, I recently changed the Pallid Jailor, a player class for Mork Borg, to FREE. Be a scummy jailor from far away on an endless hunt to those worthy of imprisonment! This is my vaguely prison abolitionist satire of the traditional fantasy paladin - where what is sold to us as Lawful Good is actually despicably evil. I think it’s fun and wild to be play as well which is exactly what you want out of Mork Borg. Get it HERE!
Thanks, as always, for reading another of my aimless missives! I promise to hit you up only one more time about the Kickstarter launch in the next two weeks or so and then after that, it’ll be back to your the normal thoughts and analysis on the work I’ve been doing and games I’ve been playing. - Christian
